How It Works

From your first inquiry to a home that finally works for you — here is the process we follow together.

1

Free Consultation Call

We chat for 20 minutes about your biggest pain points, the rooms that stress you most, and what a tidy home would mean for your daily life.

2

In-Home Assessment

I visit your home, measure spaces, discuss your habits, and together we map out a realistic plan — no judgment, just solutions.

3

Declutter & Sort

We go room by room, sorting everything into keep, donate, recycle, or toss. You make the calls — I keep us focused and moving.

4

System Design

I set up storage systems that match how you actually live — not a magazine cover. Baskets, labels, zones that make sense for your family.

5

Final Walkthrough

We review every space together, I show you how to maintain the new order, and you get a simple maintenance checklist tailored to your routine.

6

Ongoing Support

Need a quarterly refresh or help after a big life change? I offer follow-up sessions so your home stays calm long after our first project ends.

Ready to reclaim your space?

A single consultation can save you hours of frustration. Let’s map out a plan for your home — no fluff, just a clear next step.

Terms & Clarifications

1. Scope of organising services

Our professional organising and decluttering consultancy is limited to residential and home‑office spaces within South Africa. We do not provide commercial warehouse, industrial, or vehicle organisation unless separately agreed in writing. All sessions are conducted on‑site at the client’s premises; virtual consultations are available for planning and follow‑up only.

2. Client responsibilities

You agree to provide safe access to the area being organised, disclose any health or safety concerns (e.g. mould, pests, structural issues), and make decisions about keeping, donating, or discarding items. LeonieMccarthy acts as a guide and facilitator; final ownership and disposal decisions remain yours. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged during the sorting process if you have not clearly communicated their value.

3. Decluttering & disposal

Items designated for donation or recycling are handled according to your instructions. We partner with local charities and recycling centres in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban. Any items you wish to sell or give away privately must be removed from the work area before the session ends. We do not arrange sales or online listings on your behalf.

4. Lifestyle management support

Lifestyle management solutions (e.g. scheduling, errand coordination, household admin) are provided as a coaching and advisory service. We do not assume legal or financial fiduciary duties, nor do we manage your personal accounts or contracts. All recommendations are informational; you retain full authority over your household decisions.

5. Cancellation & rescheduling

Sessions may be rescheduled or cancelled with at least 48 hours’ notice. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may incur a fee equal to 50% of the session rate. In the event of illness or emergency, we waive this fee at our discretion. No‑shows are billed in full. We reserve the right to cancel or postpone a session due to unsafe conditions or client non‑cooperation.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, LeonieMccarthy’s liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the total amount paid by you for the session in which the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of items, emotional distress, or property damage caused by third parties (e.g. removal services, donation centres).

These clarifications form part of our general terms and conditions. For the full legal terms, please refer to terms.html. Last updated April 2025.
